My tractor motorcycle

Okay, I am not good with this blog thing. I managed to get the slide show up in under an hour but attached a stupid song. So, ignore the music...I'm not sure what I did wrong. We had a very busy, fun day yesterday. We are exhausted today, but we had a very merry Christmas. Asher loved his tractor motorcycle. We call it a tricycle, but to Asher it is a tractor motorcycle. We are still trying to get toys and things organized. My house is a wreck and needs help! Hope all of you had a Merry Christmas!

Twas the night before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and we went to see Nana and Papa. Asher peeked into the sacks to see what goodies were inside. He loved his basketball goal. Leila loved her Holiday barbie and gave lots of smiles. We put out cookies and milk for Santa. Asher had to leave a bright, red apple for Rudolph. We tucked the kids into bed and visions of sugar plums danced in their heads. Mommy and Daddy stayed up too late and waited on Santa to fill the stockings and leave the babies their Christmas notes!

Christmas Cards

This is one of my favorite parts of the Christmas season! Thanks to everyone that sent cards and shared images of your precious families. We love you all.

Sick Babies

Well, we went to Grandpa and Lala's house last night to open presents and eat. The night was cut short by Leila's tummy ache. So, we came home and Asher made Santa some cookies. They were beautiful! Then, Asher woke up this morning sick. Two hours later, Leila woke up sick. Even Mommy doesn't feel too hot. So, next Christmas, I hope we are well. We did venture out to Gigi and Pop's house to open presents and eat. Asher loved his presents and Leila loved her presents too...especially her doll. We are home resting and waiting for Daddy to come home from church. We are going to go have more fun at Nana and Papa's house tonight...sicknesses permitting.

Santa sends the wrong present

I need to tell Santa that he must have heard Leila wrong. This morning, our little, baby girl woke up with a tooth. I know some little child must be expecting a front tooth....not our little girl! Leila is only 4 months and 1 day old. I can't believe that she has a tooth. I love the edentulous phase and I am not ready for it to be over. It's so sad! On a merrier note, Asher has started wearing hubba-hubbas (hats) and we are so excited. Well, we were until this morning. We discovered Asher wearing mommy's boots and the center of his brand new potty chair as a hat! We laughed and laughed. Life is so funny with babies. Let's hope he doesn't try it again after we start using it for its intended purpose.

Ho Ho Ho

Well, we went to see Santa. Leila sat on his lap and didn't tell him anything she wanted. Asher stole his sucker and ran away crying. Leila was crying on the way home and this is how we found Asher tolerating her! Leila loves her dolly and is getting stronger!

Jesus Loves Me

Jesus loves me! How do I know? I know because I am so blessed with two little angels. We are totally undeserving of such wonderful gifts, but God gave us exactly what we needed. I am in love with these precious, innocent babies. I am striving to be the best mommy, and I know that I will fail. I will fail unless God is standing beside me. I need God to fill in for the skills that I lack. I need God to tell me how to love and nurture these babies. I will try my best, but I know that I need God. I hope that the babies will put their faith and trust in God. I pray that they will know that with God's help they will succeed. I pray that they will see God in their Mommy and Daddy. So, we had Leila baptized and dedicated at church today. We feel so honored that Daniel, one of Tyler's best friends, was able to perform the dedication and baptism. Our family and friends were there to surround her and us with their love and support. Leila was all smiles. Asher laid his little hand on his sister as we prayed for her. My heart was glad, and I knew that Jesus loves me. Someday, I pray Leila and Asher will know it too.

A Family Christmas Celebration

We had a family Christmas celebration at church last night. Tyler cooked deer chili for my parents. It turned out great! Then, we headed to church for a night of carols, comedy, and celebrating. Here are a few pics from last night. Also, I added a pic of Asher with his new Elmo shoes.

The Seven Year Itch

Happy Anniversary to Us! It's been 7 years....7 very happy years. So, what's the itch? Tyler and I left the babies for a night, while we went to Little Rock for a good night's rest and Christmas shopping. I believe that we had less sleep than normal because we missed our babies so much. They were the topic of conversation 90% of our trip. And yes, both of us had the "miss our children blues". Tyler sharing in my devotion to our children, and both of us scrambling to be the first in the door when we came home...it's just one reason I love him so much. Also, he lets me win! He is my partner and my friend. We have fun together. Like Tyler says...it feels like you've forgotten something when you leave without each other or the babies. So, despite the rainy day, we love being together and celebrating another blessed year, even if we are itching to get home to Asher and Leila!
