My Monday

Today, I played with my sweet babies ALL day long. Well, I did do laundry and cook during nap time! Anyways, since Asher has been born, we have had Mondays spent at home. Well, most of the Mondays. When we moved into this house, our Mondays got a little bit manic. ;) But, half of our summer is gone and Asher starts preschool in the fall. He will be going on Mondays. :( So, this part of our life together is coming to a close. This is why I am going to do everything in my power to spend the remaining Mondays we have just like we always have. Today, a second ago in fact, Asher climbed up next to me and said there was nothing better than me. I just about cried....I love my kids soooo much! This morning, I took photos of my sleeping angels. They still look like babies! Also, the process for potty training has begun. Leila pottied 3 times today! Asher is really helping the process and I am so proud of how encouraging he is being to her. She is so proud of herself too....just check out her face in the photo! Way to go, Leila!!!!

Father's Day II

Happy Father's Day to Tyler's Dad (aka Grandpa). We had dinner at the house tonight with the kiddos. It was fun! The kids made sure Grandpa was up to date on kid movies by watching Alvin and the Chipmunks...the Squeakueal! Ha! Thanks Grandpa and Lala for the goodies from San Antonio....we'll bring the maracas to your house the next time we come!! ;)

Celebrating Our Fathers

Lunch with Roger, Dinner with Dad and Papa, and all day with our Tyler. Happy Father's Day! Tyler, we love you immensely! It doesn't get any happier than when we are with you. You are the best! Thanks for all you do for us. XOXO By the way, when it's this hot here, it's okay to eat with no shirts on! :)

Oh Charleston....

Oak trees with spanish moss hanging from the old, huge branches, southern cooking at it's finest, and beautiful, old homes. Does it get any better than this? I LOVED Charleston! In a different life, I could imagine myself shopping on King Street for the perfect antique furniture for my home with 3 levels of piazzas on Battery St. I would cook dinners, garden, play with my babies, and drink mint, sweet tea everyday! I definitely want to visit again, sans kiddos. We took a carriage ride through the city. We saw the old, gorgeous homes. I included a picture of my favorite in this post. Also, a pic of the houses on Rainbow Row. We were fascinated with the history and charmed by the beauty. We tried pecan fried chicken, Carolina style shrimp and grits, and blueberry blackberry cobbler....yummy! Oh Charleston, we'll miss you until we meet again.

Vacation....Part 4

Thursday was our last day in Myrtle Beach. We had a wonderful day. The kids had fun at the beach and we spent quite a lot of time at the outdoor pool too. It was a good ending to our stay there. That night, we went to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe and had our first and only family picture from Myrtle Beach taken. They had the neatest little shopping center and we visited the candy store, the taffy store, fed the fish, and stopped for a few rides at the kids carnival rides. Then, we packed up our things and listened to the waves crashing on the shore for the last time of our vacation.

Vacation Part 3

By Wednesday, Asher was starting to feel better. He actually wanted to eat lunch! He did get sick again later that night but thankfully, it was the last time. We went to the beach for about 2 hours on Wednesday. Then, we got ready and went to eat seafood. It felt like the first real day of our vacation! After dinner, we took the kids to a store and let them pick out a toy with their money from Nanny and Papa. Leila picked a duck that she rocked to sleep and babied. It was so cute! Hard to believe that our last beach vacation, Asher got a bear that he disciplined and rewarded the whole vacation, reminding the bear that "he wasn't a bad bear, he just made a bad choice." This year, Asher picked a ninja set complete with sword, throwing star, and bow and arrows. He told us later, after 2000 traveled miles, that this toy set was his favorite part of vacation! Leave it to a 4 year old!

Vacation....Part 2

So, as you might have guessed. We did need the 3 bedrooms because we had to play musical beds when Asher woke up throwing up our first night in Myrtle Beach. The child threw up every single hour from 12:30 am until 6:30am. By 11 am on Tuesday, he said that he wanted to go to the beach. We took him out and he would only lay on the chair at first. But, Leila was having so much fun that he thought he would join in. He said the water made him feel better for a little while and then, we both started feeling sick. We went back to the condo and laid down. We stayed in bed for the rest of the day/night with fever and sick tummies. Tyler and Leila had a Daddy/Daughter day. She even came back with a new princess cap. I think they enjoyed themselves as much as Asher and I didn't enjoy ourselves. Also, I put the pictures from Monday night (at the pool) on this post.
