Merry Christmas!
Wow, we have had another wonderful Christmas! We had soooo much fun today watching the kids and spending time with family. I love getting everyone together to eat(yum!) and laugh and enjoy watching Asher and Leila. I am so thankful for all of our family and that they came to our home to celebrate Christmas with us. Thank you for helping to make Asher's 3rd Christmas and Leila's 2nd Christmas a memorable one. Also, we love our Christmas cards from our family and friends! Thanks for sharing pics of your family with us....it makes our Christmas more special. We hope that all of you had a blessed Christmas! Now, santa's helpers need to retire for some much needed rest. Christmas Eve makes me feel like I am in college again....I NEED sleep!

Our little steel magnolia

Leila is one tough little girl. Here are a few pics of last night. She wouldn't walk on her ankle but wasn't crying. I am so amazed how strong babies can be. The docor visit today went well. He said that she had a severe delayed allergic reaction to the antibiotic which progressed to vasculitis. She will be on a combo of meds for 5 days with close monitoring from mommy. Her ankle has gone down quite a bit but is still pretty bruised and swollen. Her wrist is still a little swollen as well. Most of the rash (erythema mulitforma)has turned into bruises and doesn't seem to be itching her anymore. Thankfully, no hospitalization required at this time However, we came home with a prescription for an epi pen jr. and instructions of no antibiotics in that family or the cousin family of that antibiotic. Very scary, but so thankful that she is doing better. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for the calls and the prayers.

Prayers for Leila
Tonight, I got home from work and we ate. Tyler left for church and around 7:30 I was changing Leila's diaper. When I took her footed pj's off I noticed that her ankle was about twice the normal size, reddish to purple in color, and full of fever. She was also at 101.5 despite earlier tylenol. I freaked out and called Sarah. John came over and hooked us up with a doctor friend of his who diagnosed Leila with vasculitis from looking at emailed photos of Leila. Apparently, Leila's reaction to the antibiotic is worse than expected. So, we telephoned the pediatrician and he will see her first thing tomorrow morning. Both doctors assure us that an er visit isn't needed, just immediate steroids. So, I ask all of you to pray for Leila. Pray that the steroids will work to alleviate her swelling and symptoms and keep them from progressing further. Pray that her symptoms don't take another turn for the worse before we can get to the doctor tommorrow. And, pray that tomorrow she will be sooooo much better! We want Leila 100% healthy again! Also, I just have to say a quick praise and thank you for amazing friends (thank you soooo much John and Sarah) and thank you for doctor's that will take house calls for us late at night as a favor to their friends. I'll keep you all posted. Love.

Christmas Party Time!

Our office celebrated Christmas last night at the Bonneville House. It was catered by the owner of the Beland Manor. All I can say...YUMMMY! We had a terrific time and I am thankful that the Winborn's went to the trouble to plan such an enjoyable party. I am blessed to work in such a great office with such great people!
Playing Catch Up
We took the kids to visit Grandpa and Lala on Thurs. night. They had fun and received a few early Christmas presents. Asher got a Curious George christmas book. Leila will look so cute helping me cook in her new apron (I got a matching one!) This week, Nana and Papa kept the kids 2 1/2 days and they had a blast! They had tons of fun making their gingerbread house and even made trips to Wal-Mart to get each other Christmas presents. Nana, let them pick out their choice of wrapping paper and bows too. Oh what fun it is to go to grandma's house! Oh, and there is popcorn!

Playdate fun!
Monday, we had a playdate with J at the mall. We played black light putt-putt. It was pretty fun. That night, Ty and I were trying to get Asher to sleep in his room (ongoing battle). This was our conversation:
Me: Asher, Santa doesn't bring toys to little boys that sleep with their mommy and daddy. Leila will get presents but you will not.
Asher: (thinks about it for a few seconds) I don't care, I don't want presents. I will get presents when I am bigger. I just want to sleep in your bed.

Church Family Christmas Celebration

Sunday night, we had a church Christmas family celebration. The kids had a wonderful time. Asher has been learning that we celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas day. He has caught on quite well and likes to talk about it. He knows that Mary and Joseph are his parents, he was born in Bethelehem, shepherds came to see baby Jesus, he was born in a manger, and that there was a bright star shining to lead the way. So, when people would read, he asked questions... "Daddy, are the shepherds coming?" and "Hey, I want to go to Bethelehem." It was pretty cute and I am glad to see he is eager to learn about our Lord.

Casey family reunion
Little Leila
Leila had her 15 month checkup on Friday. She is really tall (Dr. says she'll likely be about 5'10" like me) and really skinny. She is back down to the 25%. Dr. says it's a go for butter, peanut butter, anything to fatten her up. She did pretty good and got her flu shot. She is talking a lot more now. She says, "See" to everything. She loves to boss her big brother and cat. She says "Whoa" and will repeat almost anything you tell her too. Still not talking like brother was at this point. She is still soooo loving and fun. She is a little mischevious though! She loves to dance. We love her to pieces and she returns the love. We are so thankful that God gave us a baby girl and baby sister.
