Build it......a special day!

We were feeling (most of the way) back to normal today and Asher had a field trip with school. Daddy even made it for this field trip....it made Asher's day....maybe his year! This field trip was the perfect field trip for a little boy. They had a tour of Home Depot and built a bug catcher. Just in time for spring! Leila had fun getting involved too! I think she thinks she is a part of the class. ;) Then, we headed to Hobby Lobby for supplies for our family project for March. While the kids napped, I ordered supplies and invitations for a birthday party for a special (soon to be) five year old. This afternoon, we went to visit with Tuta, Morgan, Whit, Day, and Elliot. The kids had a blast running off some energy with Day. Tonight, we have been making family projects, making dinner for tomorrow, folding clothes, doing laundry, picking out a Dr. Seuss book for school tomorrow, medicating children, and now blogging. It has been a wonderful, special kind of Monday. I love my family so much!

Just a couple of updates on the past weekend, Leila did have another Dr. visit on Friday. She was diagnosed with a double ear infection and a yeast infection. Poor girl has been through it. WE ARE READY FOR SPRING! Saturday, we took Asher to 2 fun birthday parties. He needed some playtime after a week like last week. Leila was too sick to go. :( We are so happy that they are finally feeling better!

*I am feeling the babies move daily now!!!!

Sickness update....

Well, this post isn't too exciting because it is coming from a SUPER tired, pregnant with twins momma. I know my Nana must be feeling the same way because she is taking care of the sicklings while I work this week. I can't express how much I appreciate her and the many ways she comes to my rescue! Asher is much better today. He isn't 100% but more like my Asher than he has been. He hasn't ran fever since last night at bedtime. Hallelujah! Unfortunately, my little princess is worse than she was yesterday. She isn't terrible but definitely not my normal Leila. We appreciate all of your prayers and appreciate all of you who have been offering help and checking on us. I'm praying my little ones are totally healthy by the weekend and stay that way!

Just a little story from last night......We are taking Tamiflu and it is upsetting our stomachs, a little bit. Asher ran to the bathroom to vomit in the toilet, I followed him, and Leila followed me. As soon as Leila saw him vomit, she started gagging, and I carried her to the sink to vomit. As soon as I smelled her vomit, I had to let Tyler take over with her, and I started vomitting in the shower. Three of us vomitting in unison. Not a great night at the Wood household. What was Tyler doing during this event......laughing, of course! My husband has a VERY strange sense of humor!

Pink, Blue, and the flu

This morning was my prenatal appt. On the way to Nana's house, Asher said that if he was having two more sisters, he would pass out. Ha! Tyler went with me today and good thing he did because we found out the sexes! Twin A....boy! Twin B...girl! This means they do have two separate placentas...wooohooo! They are in a T shape position. Girl is transverse and Boy is breach. Explains why I have had lots of pelvic pressure.....little guy has his hiney right down in my pelvis. They had great heartbeats and everything else good too. Thanks for all your prayers for the twins....keep em' coming. The kids were super excited. Asher squealed so loud when he found out he was having a brother too.

This afternoon, we made a trip to the pediatrician's office for a sick visit. Leila was saying that her ears hurt and sounds like the cause is allergy/sinus swelling. Asher has had a horrible cough and fever. The doctor diagnosed him with bronchitis and the flu. :( Poor little guy. The doctor said he thought he was pretty close to pneumonia....please pray that these Rx's work and it doesn't progress to that. Turns out my boy was sicker than I thought. Also, Leila has started coughing and is now running fever. Please keep my Asher and Leila in your prayers.....we need their health restored! Asher was so worried that he was going to get a shot at the doctor's office. It was the first question he asked the nurse. She informed him that if he had to have a shot, she was going to call in sick that day! Ha! Ha! She told him she still remembered giving him his flu shot this year and is pretty sure that she will call in sick at flu shot time next year. ;) I love our nurses and our pediatrician! I posted a pic of our purchase at our pharmacy....that's a lot of meds for the three of us!

*pics on next post, wouldn't post pics and text together?

Sweet....

Asher got into trouble tonight. He was apologizing and I was explaining why he was in so much trouble. I asked him, "Can you tell me one reason why I shouldn't punish you?" His response, "Well, I'm sweet, of course." Yes, he really is. This little boy has totally stolen my heart! I seriously think it would burst if I loved him anymore!

Happy Heart Day 2011!

"Asher, how was your Valentine's Day?", I asked. His response, "It was an awesome Valentine's Day!". I feel exactly the same way! I feel immensely blessed to have shared my Valentine's Day with Tyler (my Valentine of 16 years!) and my two precious angels. We had a candlelight dinner in our dining room. We ate steak, baked potatoes, salad with homemade dressing, and burgundy mushrooms. Our kids didn't eat the steak....they are nuts! Then, the kids gave Tyler their gift to him (a Razorback cookie cake.....designed by Asher) and a homemade card from Leila. We enjoyed a slice of the cookie cake....two slices for Asher.....and some of our Valentine's candy. It was a great family celebration at home! Thank you to our loving, supportive family and for the sweet tokens of affection that each of you gave our babies. They were super excited for all of it! I'll leave you with the poem that Asher and Leila's daddy gave them in their Peanuts card....

You are warmer than a blanket, more fun than any game, You're sweeter than a cookie (or at least about the same), as moving as a symphony, as snuggly as a nest. Of all the Valentines there are, You are the very BEST!

I love you, Tyler, Asher, and Leila! Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!

Valentine's Day Party at Preschool

What a fun little party! Mom even got a Valentine's day gift from my little man. I forgot to take a picture so I'll get it posted later. They let little sister sit at the the kid's table and she was pretty excited. Asher acted excited to see her there too. They both fell asleep on the way home so I guess the iced cookies, sherbert drink, cupcakes, cheeseballs, and candy didn't affect them. ;) We are staying in tonight for a family Valentine's day celebration. I'll try to post a little more later. We are still so happy with his preschool and his classmates! God is so good!

Ready for Valentine's Day

We have been doing some Vday crafts and making out Valentine's for Asher's school. We even made a trip to our local candy store, Kopper Kettle, to get our usual 2 lb. box of chocolates. I'm ready to dig in! Asher and Leila got haircuts on Friday and Asher was sporting his new do today. Leila was sporting her new glasses. She loves them! That girl has her own sense of style. :) I love these precious children and am so thankful that they are our Valentines.

Up

It is 4:05 a.m. and I am up. UGH! This is what happens when you eat a hamburger for lunch and pizza for dinner and forget to take your Prevacid when you are preggo with twins! I found a picture of what the twins look like at 16 weeks and thought I would share. I'm feeling more and more pregnant everyday! Finding clothes to wear is becoming challenging and I'm not that excited to dust off the old maternity clothes yet. This is my 3rd time to wear the hideous things! I've had a little anxiety about becoming a mommy of 4 this week and have appreciated the encouraging words of some great friends. It's nice to NOT hear "What are you going to do?" or "Wow, you are going to need a bus!" from atleast a few people. My van does hold 7-8 passengers, people! I am very excited for these new additions but a little unsure of how I can divide my time among 4 little munchkins. When we were newly married, Tyler and I said we would have 3-4 babies. Can't believe that we really are!!!

On a different note, life continues to happen. Our washer went out last week and my dad said that the dryer wasn't too far behind. So, we ran over and bought a new set on Monday. They were scheduled to deliver the new set Friday afternoon. Friday morning, we had lots of errands to run.....hair cuts, order cookies for Asher's school Valentine's party, pick up Leila's new glasses. We discovered after the first stop that I almost had a flat. Detour to the tire place.....found out I need two new tires. Always something! They did show up to deliver the new washer/dryer that afternoon, only to drop the washer down our very steep driveway. I watched from the window as the thing slid halfway down the driveway. They did leave the damaged washer so I could wash clothes until next week. It was kind of comical to watch the whole thing. Not sure why he thought he could come up our driveway without the washer strapped on the dolly? I have a new post for tomorrow......later today. ;)

My Handsome Husband

I'm still so in love with this hard-working, handsome man! I can't believe that this man and I are about to be blessed with 4 little children!

Snow Away! We are ready for spring!

We sure had fun playing outside in this beautiful snow though. I think I saw we had about 7 inches. Thanks Nanny, Papa, and Kristen for coming to play. Now, we are snuggled inside our warm home and getting ready to eat beans and ham and some cornbread. Yum! Yum!
