WARNING! Not for the weak stomachs!

Yes, it continues.....
Last night, around 2 am, Tyler woke up with another eye bleed. I'm telling you these things are like nose bleeds. I grabbed the camera for proof this time. This picture is after he had rinsed his eye once. Needless to say, it was alarming. So, this morning he made another trip to the ophthamologist and she still didn't find anything with his eye. She referred him to an ENT next week and said that she will refer him to another ophthamologist at UAMS if the ENT doesn't find anything. So, he went back to work. Yes, we are very frustrated and worried. Please keep praying!

Fun things to do during a cold January

Serious about these swords....bad guys stay away!

We'll just camp inside and watch old home videos by the fire!

Yes, even a dog crate is fun when you are stuck inside all day long!

Thanks to Nanny and Papa for the fun new art easel!

It's Hello Kitty! She didn't want to take off her new mask!

God is Great

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine..
Ephesians 3:20

I am a planner and I like to feel in control of my life. Recently, in a Sunday school class, a lady that has known me for a long time introduced me and added that I was the only person she knows that has had my life planned from high school and it has turned out just as I imagined. Well, that isn't actually true. I imagined that my sister would be my maid of honor in my wedding, that I would run off to UNC for college, become a pharmacist, and have 3 or 4 amazing children with Tyler. Instead, I stayed in Arkansas for college, married a pharmacist, and have 2 amazing children with Tyler. Don't get me wrong, I love my life! I wished that it was as easy to make friends as it was in high school and I wished money grew on trees, but I can't make those things happen. And, the truth of the matter, I still like to plan but realize it is the unplanned things and people that make life awesome. I don't want to be in control. God can do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine! God loves me and delights in me.....that's more than I ask or imagine. This year my plan is simple. To trust God wholly! I am so excited for 2 women in my life that have been told they wouldn't get pregnant or have had a very difficult road trying to get pregnant and am so happy to report that God has given them a child! Aren't you glad that we aren't in control! Praise God from whom all blessing flow!

Meatloaf

My kids love home cookin'! It's obvious that we are southerners by what we eat. Their favorites are corn bread, meatloaf, catfish, beans, fishpuppies (aka hushpuppies), any dessert...etc. Tonight, Asher informed a friend that when his daddy takes him hunting for the first time with a gun, he was going to shoot a meatloaf. That's right, a meatloaf! Ha! When she questioned him about where meatloaves live.....he didn't know and he wasn't sure what color they were either. However, he told her that he knew right where he needed to shoot them. Proudly, he told her that his Daddy taught him that. Thank God for Daddy, home cookin', and precious babies!

Old!

Yesterday, at work, I saw a teenage patient and she confirmed the fact that I am definitely OLD! Here's our conversation:
Her: I am soo tired!
Me: Why?
Her: You know teenagers, I was up at 4 a.m. everyday over break
Me: Why in the world did you wake up every morning at 4 a.m.?
Her: (glanced at me like I was the stupidest human on earth) I didn't WAKE up at 4 a.m.......I STAYED up till 4 a.m.!
Me: (feeling like a total moron, old fart!) Of course that's what you meant!
Gotta love teenagers!

Pure cuteness

Our little southern boy is pure cuteness. He melts my heart. We are starting to notice a quality in Asher that we are so happy about.....he's compassionate. Oh, I love him!

And I love her

I love this girl so much!

I.want.mine.nilk! A typical Leila phrase. Oh how I will miss her baby phase. She is pure fun and innocence.

Hello 2010!

Thankfully, we decided to come home last night after the Hog game in case the weather was bad. We had spent the weekend in Mt. View in a cabin (at the end of the world...as Asher put it) on the river. We were worried about getting out on the backroads this morning. So, we headed down the curvy roads last night. Some of our family decided to stay until today and are now stranded in Mt. View. So, please pray that they will make it home soon and that they have enough food to last until then. We want everyone home safe before the next round of snow. Anyways, as we drove, we reflected on 2009 and what we were thankful for. So, here's our list:

1. Our families health, especially since the recent health scares with Tyler. We were so thankful to be celebrating a good report this weekend.

2. Of course, our freedom to worship as we please and our wonderful church family and small group. Thank you God for your protection, love, and presence in our lives in 2009.

3. That God provided a home we love and sold our other home in 3 weeks!

4. That Tyler kept his job with the buy out of the hospital.

5. That we added 2 new members to our family....our Minnie and Pippa. (tyler you know you love them!)

6. We both agreed that we had the best Christmas that we can remember this year.....but we wished Nana and Papa had been able to be with us too....you need to move to this side of the river!

Tons of other things but these were the things that stuck out in my mind.

We don't make resolutions....they make us feel like failures, but we did talk about some things we wanted to improve on in 2010.

1. Knowing Him more....of course we praise and love God with all of our hearts, but we want to be more intentional with our praying and spending more time in the word.

2. Being more intentional and organized with our time.....I want to improve on being the best mom, wife, daughter, etc., being more intentional with spending time doing the things that are priorities to us and less wasting time.

3. Being more organized at home.

4. I need to start getting in shape.....maybe P90x is in my future too.

5. We want to be better stewards of our money.

We are praying for wonderful memories and things for 2010. I'm sure it will be an adventure watching Asher and Leila grow and am excited to make memories this year. May God bless all of you this year.
