A day with my dad!

Today, I went with my dad and the kiddos to Fayetteville. We had the best day! We went preschool pants shopping for Asher and I found a few goodies too! Dad entertained the kiddos with riding rides, playing in the play area, going to the toy store, and getting balloons made into animal shapes. It was such a great day with my Dad and the kids. We finished the day with dinner at Noodles. Asher was using his new knight to play with his food....typical boy behavior! :) Leila wanted to make a funny face with Papa and her new balloon. Dad, thanks for being my driver and for helping me with the kids so I could get some things accomplished!

I love a Viking man!

Tyler and Mike had a wild idea to enter a homemade boat race for a charity event. They wanted to build a viking ship boat. Emily and I laughed pretty hard when we first heard.....but, this is the finished product! I am so proud of them and sure hope that they win! I love my Viking man!

Weekend wrap up

Friday night, we went with my parents and Kyle to Rogers for dinner for Mom's birthday. I made her a cake and we had some when we got back home! Poor mom could barely eat because the kiddos wanted her to play with them sooo much! Happy Birthday Mom....we love you sooo much! Saturday, the kids and I made the drive to Little Rock for a day of swimming with two of my favorite women and our 9 children! We've been busy since hygiene school! I LOVED every moment of getting to catch up with them and seeing our kiddos play. I sometimes forget how fun it was with those girls the two years we went through school. We seriously need to do this more often! Emily, thanks for having us....your home is BEAUTIFUL! I love you both very much and Courtney, we sure missed you! Today, we were able to see some family we don't usually get to see, take a nap, swing, ride tricycles, play basketball, and swim in Nanna Dodd's pool. What a great weekend! Asher and Leila, I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment watching you smile!

Lucky enough

A little sign inside the cabin in Mt. View reads, "If you are lucky enough to be in the mountains, you are lucky enough." We felt lucky enough this weekend! We headed up to the land we love in Mt. View for a family weekend escape. It was a good time of family togetherness. We antique shopped, read books, watched movies, ate homecooking, painted magnets, played, watched the river, and drank shakes at Wood's Pharmacy. We were the only customers upstairs, so Daddy and Leila decided to share a dance. She loved it....of course. Asher and Daddy shared some milkshake too! We even found a beautiful mermaid for Tyler and Mike's homemade viking boat! Ha! Mor on that later! :) Anyways, we love the cabin and thank Tu-ta and Rick for sharing it with us!

A gift

My grandma got me this lamp as an early birthday present. We found it in an antique store in Mt. View and I LOVE it! It's exactly what I have been looking for! Thanks Nana! Also, thanks for letting me use it early! :)

Sweet Land of Liberty...

We spent our Independence day with family and church family this year. It was nice to wake up and head to church in our patriotic clothes. It felt right to thank God for this sweet land that we live. We prayed for our land, leaders, and servicemen. I thanked God for my family, my church, my freedom. We had a cookout at mom and dad's house. The kids and I made a red, white, and blue cake. They LOVED it! Asher swam without floaties. He swam with his face in the water and did a fantastic job! We were soooo proud. Then, we ate watermelon (a staple for July 4th) and did a few fireworks. Asher loves the sparklers and smoke bombs. Leila is like here Momma and prefers just to play with the poppers. We had a wonderful time celebrating America's 234th birthday!
