Amazing

Don't we serve an amazing God! There is a time and a season for each event in our lives. Asher is starting to potty train and is doing so well. He just decided to on Thursday and has only had 1-2 accidents a day with no wetting through the night. I am so proud of him! We have been giving him surprises to encourage him and the blue mouth is a result of a ring pop surprise! The first pic is Asher about 6:30pm last night b/c he decided not to nap yesterday afternoon. Sometimes, parents really do know what is best for their children. Isn't the same thing true for us and our heavenly father. He really does know what's best for us. Tyler and I have been seeking and standing still lately. We do not want to be in control b/c only God knows what is best for us. We just make a big mess of things when we try to be in control. Thankfully, God loves us enough to help fix our mistakes. Also, he loves us enough to give us little glimpses of just how in control of our lives he really is. He is an amazing God!

Thank you

I don't have any new pics to post. We did have a busy weekend though. Asher went to G's birthday party and had a blast. He is now fascinated with the Backyardigans. It is a pretty cute cartoon. Asher, Leila, and I have had some sort of mild cold. I have become the new baby/new mommy food ministry volunteer for our church and I am sooo excited! We saw the new Batman movie and thought it was great! But, I am writing this post to tell all of our family how thankful we are for your love and support. We are thankful for your involvement with our children and our lives. I can't believe that we are so blessed. Thank you to our friends for your love and support. We love each and every one of you and your families and our lives are so much fun because of you all. Each and every friend/family brings something different to our lives that we need. Thank you for supporting our children too. I feel overcome with thankfulness and I just wanted to share. It seems the world is becoming a scarier place than I can ever remember and we are so glad to be surrounded by all of you....glad that our children can see Christian examples daily and Christian families. Anyways, all of you make each of our days a lot happier and make problems we face seem totally conquerable (not sure thats a word). So, thanks and we love you all.

Howdy Y'all

We've been up to a bunch of nothing. The heat is draining and we are all feeling pretty tired this week. Asher did poopie in the potty for the first time today! Hopefully, he will continue to do well and be potty trained before too long.

Fun with G!

We took G's mommy and daddy some food b/c there is a new baby boy at home. Then, we took G to Chuck-E-Cheese for a playdate with Asher. These two babies love each other so much! The funny thing is that they always have. They want to play together the entire time and they could barely eat for kissing and hugging on each other. It is such a blessing to see these two precious children growing up together. We had a blast and were so surprised that Little Miss G ate 5 1/2 pieces of pizza! Also, your new baby brother is adorable!

Asher's 1st Dental Visit

Asher had his first dental visit yesterday. He did better than I expected and no cavities! He even wanted to help me clean Daddy's teeth. Our little man is growing up!

Happy Birthday Nanny!

Happy Birthday to my mom and Asher and Leila's Nanny! We love you so much and think that you are soooo much fun! We are so glad that you are in our lives and are thankful for your love. Thanks for eating hamburgers with us and for leaving Asher your birthday cake. (Asher wanted to give Nanny the cake but forbade her to take it home) Mom, you are the best and I hope that my kids will think as fondly of their childhood as I do mine! Love you, Happy Birthday!

Picture Mixture

These are a few pics: The first is of Leila loving L (Leila gets serious about her loving...if you can't tell by her pulling L's hair to love her more!), The second pic is of Leila in her new bathing suit, and the third pic is Asher going potty!

Ready to Walk

Leila is ready to walk and we think every day will be the day. We had a great weekend. I took a trip to Springdale for a CE course with the office and we had a great time (I will try to post a pic later). Tyler took a guys trip canoeing (I'll see if I can post a pic later that another guy took) and the babies stayed with Nanny and Papa Jean. They had a wonderful time too! Tonight, we had a small group social gathering and grilled out and played the Nintendo Wii(sp?). Boxing was a lot of fun and Asher wanted to help out from the sidelines. Asher loved playing with S and Leila enjoyed playing with L. I can't believe how big our baby girls look in this picture! So, hopefully, I will have a pic soon of Leila walking!

A fun visit with Uncle Kyle

Uncle Kyle came home for the first time in a lot of months and the kids were SOOO excited to see him! He took them for a shopping adventure at Toys-R-Us, Asher selected a drum set and Leila chose a pink stroller walker toy for her baby doll. Then, the family went to eat dinner. As you can see, Asher had a great time sitting by his Uncle Kyle. Leila liked loving on everyone at the table. We sure will miss Uncle Kyle until we see him again. We all love you Kyle! Thanks for coming to visit and for the toys!

Born in the USA

Leila celebrated her 1st Independence Day today. It is her last 1st holiday. I can't believe she is almost 1. Also, I can't believe this is Asher's 3rd Independence Day. We have been truly blessed. I remember, not so long ago, standing in the parking lot of the Ashbury apartments in Little Rock doing sparklers with Tyler. It was a good time together but nothing compares to our celebrations now. Thankfully, our children were born in the USA and we were too! We gathered to have food and swimming fun today! Asher loved his new floaties and Leila loved the sparklers. She wanted to hold them....Asher didn't. Nanny brought them glow sticks which they both enjoyed more than the fireworks. We enjoyed the family time and fellowship. Also, we are enjoying the long weekend! Asher sang Yankee Doodle Dandy for us today. It was precious(of course...momma's think everything is precious). Leila is drawing nearer to walking. Everyday we think it will be THE day. Anyways, it's now July 5th and I am still awake and I am very tired. Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day

Happy 21st Birthday Morgan!

The first time I met Morgan, he was 8 years old. He chased me around the room trying to hit me with a plastic chair. Then, we progressed to him being afraid to sit by me to eat! Tonight, we celebrated Morgan's 21st birthday! Morgan is such a sweet, wonderful young man! I am so thankful to be related to him...even if it is just by marriage. Asher was glad to lick the icing from the balloons that decorated his cake. Leila was obsessed with touching and kissing Magnum, the dog. It was a loud, busy celebration, but we hope you had a great birthday Morgan!
