Red, White, and Blue Birthday Decorations

Lots of preparation and planning went into this 1st red, white, and blue birthday party for the twins. It started last summer when our twins spent their first holiday, 4th of July, in the nicu. I was so pleased with how it all came together. It wasn't without lots of help. Here's my list of thank yous..... Tyler, Asher, and Leila....thank you for helping create many of the decorations we used today and especially to Tyler, for grilling and hauling and cleaning up and putting up with all of my crazy ideas. Mom and Dad....thank you for running all over town to look for things for the party for me, for decorating with me and cleaning up, and for cooking your yummy potato salad for the party. Gina and Roger...thank you for allowing us to have the party at your house, for making delicious butterfinger homemade ice cream, for helping us set things up, and for making sure everything outside stayed alive and pretty for the party today. Nana....thank you for listening to me bounce ideas off of you for the past year and for making your yummy baked beans. Jerry and Laurie...thank you for making the fruit kabobs, they were delicious. Morgan....thank you for helping Tyler move everything last night! I hope I remembered everything. If not, I'm tired, but thank you to everyone for your help! More party pics tomorrow.

Happy 1st Birthday!

Their birthday table and birthday presents I love that there are two birthday cakes for two birthday babies!!! They liked their pizza for dinner. The 12 month stickers lasted about 2 seconds. They are just too tempting to eat! Being so dainty about eating her cake.... Then, Papa Jean showed her how to do it... Cal took a different approach, dump it into his lap. He figured it out! Happy 1st Birthday, Callum and Caroline!!

This ultrasound picture became these two beautiful twins..... Oh what a year it has been! Happy 1st birthday to our twins, Cal and Caroline! We love you so much! Thanks be to God for both of you!

An early celebration

I know, I know, how many pictures could I possibly get of them eating a cookie?! It was absolutely precious and hilarious! I have never seen my son act so excited about something. He was throwing his head back, laughing hysterically, and squealing with delight! Caroline was taking advantage of his hyped up sugar state and stealing his cookies. She was a double fisted cookie monster! There were crumbs EVERYWHERE! I just have to say that I/we were so blessed that the Dodd's and Brown's wanted to have this early celebration for the twin's birthday. It was such a sweet gesture....we love y'all so much! The big kids didn't lack having fun either.....thanks to the Brown teens for entertaining all of the kiddos. Afterwards, Nanny and Papa kept the twins so we could take Asher and Leila to see Brave. Then, Asher and Leila stayed to have some Nanny and Papa time too!
