Happy and Blessed!

Asher means happy and blessed.....today he definitely was. He said he had a wonderful birthday but says he doesn't feel any different than he did yesterday. On his 5th birthday, he skipped preschool, went bowling, and went to Chuck E Cheese with our family to play and celebrate. He was showered with presents from everyone. He was so excited! He says his favorite is his sea serpent ship....he was so worried because they only had 1 left at Toys R Us. Ha! Ha! Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate and love on him! We are also blessed by y'all! Happy Birthday Asher!

Happy #5 Birthday to our sunshine!

You have given us immeasurable amounts of joy in your five years with us! We love you sweet Asher! Happy Birthday!

His last day of being 4!

Today is the last day that my first born will be 4 years old. It is a happy/sad day for his mommy. It seems time has gone by in the blink of an eye. 5 holds many new things for Asher and he is soooo excited to be 5. Afterall, 5 is (and always has been) his favorite number. He would say 5 when he was barely talking as a signal that he was finished eating or taking a drink. Being 5, Asher will begin to play tball (draft is tonight), he will welcome his twin siblings, and he will start kindergarten (tear). Today, however, my baby boy is still 4. So, we took cupcakes to his class for his birthday. We made them last night.....they had so much fun. He picked out Mario cupcake picks and blue plates/napkins. Today, his teacher let him pick where everyone would sit at the table. She asked him questions about the day he was born and then a couple of his favorites. His responses:
favorite food: jelly sandwich
favorite dessert: ice cream
favorite drink: coke
favorite color: blue
favorite tv show: power rangers (cringe)
favorite toy: Snoopy :)
Then, they sang happy birthday and he blew out a candle. Leila loved cracking up his class with her icing mustache. They played letter bingo and he got the blue markers and he won! He said it was a great classroom party. Tonight, I am cooking him chicken and chestnuts...his favorite. Yesterday, I cooked him beans, cornbread, macaroni and cheese, and meatloaf....another favorite. Later this week, lasagna....another fav. Anything to celebrate the life of my favorite baby boy! 4 has been wonderful! His request for tonight, that Leila sleeps in her bed and he gets to snuggle in mommy's bed between momma and daddy. You got it! I think momma may enjoy our snuggling even more than he does!

A little of this and that

Our twins!

Well, we had our big ultrasound and our first of many growth scans today. It sure made me excited to meet our precious babies. Well, in a few months, I want them to stay in there and bake for a couple more months. ;) They are still boy/girl. Thankfully! Asher or Leila would have been upset otherwise. Our boy is weighing 1 lb. 1 ounce and our girl 1 lb. The sonographer said this is about the weight a single baby weighs at 20 weeks, so we were thrilled that they were this size! They were SOOO active! I felt sorry for her trying to get all the measurements and pictures for us. The little stinkers didn't want to show her their faces....especially him. They had a good/normal scan and their mommy and daddy were so relieved and thankful! While she was scanning me, the little boy elbowed the little girl in the head. She immediately threw her arms up over her head to push his elbow away. Precious! I can't wait to see how they interact. We did get some sweet video and a particular shot of 4 perfect tiny feet. Awww! I shared a 4d ultrasound of Caroline's face (we think she looks like big sis when she was born). We didn't get one of his face but we did bring home one that looks like he is praying. Funny because that is how he looked Monday too! Thanks for your prayers for these 2 tiny miracles.

Best of friends!

They enjoy life so much more because of each other.....they are the best of friends!

Mt. View

We made a trip to Mt. View this weekend. It was a wonderful, relaxing family weekend. We really didn't plan to do much and good thing because we forgot our fishing stuff and licenses. We did get to eat a burger at CJ's on the way and stop and eat dinner with friends today. We watched a little basketball tournament and a Knight's Tale. Tyler grilled an amazing salmon dinner and we feasted on that and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Needless to say, we didn't go hungry. Almost 4 years ago, we took Asher to Blanchard to explore. I was pregnant with Leila. So, we took Asher and Leila back to explore and I am pregnant with the twins. When we take the twins, I sure hope I'm not pregnant again. ;) The kids had a blast exploring.....Tyler and I had lots of fun watching them and exploring too. We spent lots of time just enjoying our family and talking. My favorite part of the trip was sitting on the porch, in the swings, talking last night. Asher and Leila told us what their favorite things were about us and then we told them. Of course, we had too many favorite things to share about Asher and Leila but it made them smile the things we did share with them. Here is what they said about us:
Asher's favorite about Daddy: That he plays with him and that he always grills good dinner. Also, that he is his best buddy.
Asher's favorite about me: That I play with him and take care of him. He also says that I cook him his favorite meals.
*I guess food really does score big points with boys!
Leila's favorite about Daddy: That he plays kitty cat with her and that he pretends to be a kitty cat in the morning to wake her up. (Awww!)
Leila's favorite about me: She likes to cook with me and she loves to play with me and she likes to play with and smell my hair.
*I love the sincerity of their answers and time really does mean so much to kids.
I'm so glad we took the time out of our busy lives to enjoy our family this weekend. Also, I came home to a really clean house. My sweet momma came over and did this for me as a surprise to help out. I have the best momma ever!
