Twin Update

Thursday we had our second growth scan on the twins. Callum was 2lb. 7 oz. and Caroline was 1 lb. 15 oz. We continue to pray that God would let them grow and keep our twins in the palm of his hand.

“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Matthew 6: 28-30

Superhero Saturday

Tball practice and hot dog cookout this morning, superhero day at chick fil a, and a birthday party at monkey house....it's been a busy Saturday. We are gladly resting at home tonight.

From making bluebird houses to green eggs and ham, hunting leprachauns, having umbrella parades, and playing on the playground. One thing is for certain....preschool is fun! Can't believe this year is drawing to an end!

SCARED!!!

I've referenced this crazy weather lately on my blog. Tonight, I was scared and shaking and crying because of it. I was headed to my Nana and Papa's house after work to pick up the kids. It's about 5 minutes from my work. When I crested the hill, these are the clouds I saw. The radio started saying that if you were in the south side of town to take cover immediately and this was not a joking matter. The sirens were blaring and I was driving like a maniac to get to Nana's. They said they could see rotation and I was watching with my own eyes! I just knew that these clouds were going to drop a tornado any moment and the twins and I were in danger. I hated that feeling!!! I'm not trying to be dramatic...I was scared to death. Thankfully, my momma stayed on the phone and talked me through it. I passed three policemen and I'm sure I wasn't following recommended speeds but I was so scared. I made it to my Nana's and was hiding in the closet for the next 20 minutes. All I can say, I was so thankful for God's protection tonight! Tyler's truck and our house received some hail damage but these are just things and we are all OK. Praise God! I hope to never have an experience like tonight ever, ever again!! P.S. I borrowed these pictures from a local news station website....I wasn't going to take the time to take pictures! ;)

A's 5 yr. checkup

We ventured out in the storms today to take A to his 5 year checkup. He weighed 45 lbs. (75%) and was 45 inches tall (85%). His blood pressure and pulse were wnl. He had to get his finger pricked to check his iron. He hates needles and shots so I was very proud that he didn't cry. Leila stood bedside and watched the whole thing. ;) While we were waiting on the Dr., I let him call his daddy to tell him how brave he was. During the phone call, Asher leaned against me and started to cry saying that he felt funny and his eyes were blurry and he couldn't see. His knees started to give and I was basically holding him up. When I got him up on the table he was as pale as could be. He laid on the table for a while and I fanned him with a magazine. Poor little guy almost passed out! They did leave quite a smear of blood on the paper on the table and I guess it was freaking him out. He says he wants to be a dentist when he gets older so he will definitely have to outgrow this fear of blood! ;) We were glad to get out of the Dr's office and had to take him for a treat at McDonalds and a trip to Toys R Us. That treat included 3 detours down side streets due to flooding.....I am so ready for the rain to give us a break for a while! We had a WONDERFUL nap this afternoon during the storm. I LOVE Mondays!!!!! Another funny story from the Dr.'s office, Asher and I were playing copy that funny face in the waiting room and at one point he put his fingers in his mouth. I told him not to do that because of the germs on his hands from touching stuff in the office. His immediate reaction......to spit in the floor! I'm not kidding....it was like it was a reflex. I cleaned up the spit and told him we could NEVER do that again. He said, "Well, I had to get those germs out of my mouth, Momma!" Kids are hilarious!!!

Our Savior Lives!

How exciting to wake up to the goodies that the Easter bunny left for Asher and Leila. Asher's only rule on the way to check out what he got....we had to hop like bunnies into the dining room. Ha! We quickly got ready for church and we didn't drown going into the church either. ;) Wow, we've had a lot of spring rain and weather this year! Church was wonderful and the music was amazing! I'm not partial! ;) Seriously, it was great! We took a few pics after church and headed to Gigi and Pop's house for easter lunch. It was yummy! We were able to see baby Nora but I didn't get any pics. We left there and went to an easter egg hunt at the Brown's. The kids had a wonderful time and I'm pretty sure they will want money in their eggs from now on. ;) Thanks for having us....we love y'all. We have played Hi-Ho Cherrio a couple of times tonight and tried to dodge some spring weather again. My poor mom and brother have had quite a day and it is just a reminder of what an amazing momma I have. I love you! You inspire me to be a strong, loving woman. Happy Easter to all! We have enjoyed celebrating that our Savior lives and our Savior loves. Praise God for our many blessings....even in the midst of some storms.

Sugar and Spice

It is 4 am and I can't sleep....I can't breathe, I can't get comfortable, and these twins won't stop kicking me. ;) So, after trying to go back to sleep for an hour, I'm up for a little while. Hopefully, I'll get sleepy soon! I decided since I am a forgetful, pregnant momma to blog about my favorite topics so I won't forget this time. For some reason, I imagine our lives are going to get pretty hectic in a few months!

Asher
-You still love to imagine play...especially dinos and weapons
-You like to play games and do crafts....more board games than video games right now
-You love orange juice and Lucky Charms cereal....you are a great eater!
-You are so faithful....you are teaching me what faith like a child means. Your first response to worries/trouble is prayer and you believe boldly in the power of God!
-You love to sing (mainly church songs and some bluegrass/country songs) at the top of your lungs
-You have an amazing memory! I am so impressed by how smart you are. You are so imaginative and logical too.
-You are polite and are always thankful for the things we do for you. I love it when you tell me "thank you Momma" for the simplest of things I do with/for y'all.
-You are easy and obedient.
-You are loyal. The other day at preschool one of your friends told you that he wasn't your friend anymore because you accidentally spilled water on his shoes. To which you responded, "Well, even if you aren't my friend, I'm still your friend." Oh baby, I am so happy you are the way you are and pray that God will protect you from heartbreak through your life!
-You have a sweet, sweet spirit!!!!! You are genuinely concerned for the feelings of others. You want to help anyway you can. I can't lift you right now and I've asked you to help by jumping when I need to lift you. You remember EVERY time....even at 3 am when you need a lift back in bed. You always try to calm Leila when she is mad....even if it means she hits or bites you a couple of times while you are trying.
-You are so loving and affectionate. You always shower Leila with kisses and cuddle up to me and Daddy. You talk to the twins and rub my tummy as you tell them that you pray that they are born safe and that God will take care of them. You love them already. They are blessed to have you as a big brother!
-You get totally excited for things! I love this about you, it makes planning for you so fun! You count down the days to special events and truly soak every bit of it in while we are doing something. You plan your birthday and holidays starting the day after they are over. ;)
-You still say "Howdy" for coyote.
-You love talking about all men things....hunting, fishing, trucks, tractors, etc.

Leila
-You love "nilk" and chips. You like food but not meat especially.
-You love to make crafts but want to do it "all by mine self"
-You love to play with animals, dolls, anything little that you can hold in your hand. You carried a boiled egg around most of yesterday and tonight you are sleeping with a sponge roller. ;) You like squinkies, strawberry shortcake, and smurfs right now.
-You still wake up as a kitty cat every morning and turn into one throughout the day. You and Daddy play smurf kitty cat/Gargamel (sp?) every night.
-You say "e know" for you know. You call Copper's litter box a "glitter box". Many others that we will miss when you stop too!
-You are soooo independent! I'm sure I'll be glad for this as you get older....sometimes it makes things a little more complicated right now. ;)
-You are so creative and you amaze us with how smart you are and the connections you make.
-You have a great sense of humor like your Daddy
-You are such a girly girl. You love hair....still. You always want your toenails polished and love all things girly. Yesterday, Papa asked if you were going to play tball or basketball. Your response, "No, I want to be a cheerleader and take dance." He said you may want to play sports someday. You said, "Girls don't play sports." He told you that some girls do and are better than some boys. You said without even looking back at him, "I don't!" He gave up and said he guessed you could just dance and sing. That made you happy!
-You love singing too. You usually sing softly to yourself. Your voice is pretty.
-You have a bad temper but always say you are sorry for making a bad choice. You say sorry without me asking you to but it's usually a while later. Sorry sweetie, you got this from your momma!
-You are very polite.
-You are a homebody like your mommy. You like to do things but always want to come home sooner than later. I love this about you!
-You love to cook!
-You have a tender heart. It breaks your heart if someone hurts your feelings or embarreses you.
-I know you will love mothering the twins because you love to help me do things. They will be blessed to have you as a big sister! BUT....you have established the fact that Caroline will not be called "Princess". Ha!
-You go to church school and don't let anybody try to say different! (It's Tiny Tims on Wed night)
-You are so dramatic and we love your high pitched voice!
-You are very giving.....you are willing to share anything and don't seem to get too attached to "stuff".

Well, I could go on and on but I'm gonna stop here. I'm thirsty and hungry! ;)

A little more fun...

Birthday dinner with Uncle Kyle and easter goodies from Nanny and Papa. Then, we came home and made rice krispie bird nests. Now, I'm resting....finally! ;)

The rain didn't keep us from having fun!

We enjoyed a fun Easter celebration at Aunt Linda's. We loved the lunch, the desserts!, coloring easter eggs, egg races, bubble blowing, and inside easter egg hunting. We met sweet baby Sophia and also celebrated uncle Kyle's birthday.
