Too small

We took Leila for her 6 month checkup today. She is doing well, except she isn't gaining weight like she should. We are going to start formula to try and fatten her up.

Sick

Asher and Leila woke up yesterday with fever. Asher had eggs and yogurt for breakfast and sat down in Daddy's lap to watch Elmo. Then he got sick...all over Daddy and Mommy! It was horrible. Asher ran fever all day and talked about "Asher puked". It was not a fun day. Both babies are better today, but we are still just lounging at home. Hopefully, this is the last time they are sick for a while.

It's Potty Time!

We are so proud of Asher for going to the potty for the very first time!!! He was proud too....he called everyone to tell about his accomplishment.

Mother/Baby Brunch

Today, our church had it's second annual mother/baby brunch. Yes, I was the only mother that attended last year AND this year! Anyway, the staff did a wonderful job and we had a lovely time. We had some quality time together and received lots of goodies. Gerber donated a big sack of goodies for us. When we came home, I unloaded the stuff on the table. Asher started moving everything from the table to the floor. Tyler told Asher to put the things back because they were Leila's. So, a few minutes later, Asher told Tyler, "I gave it to Leila". This is how we found Leila! Needless to say, we laughed until we cried. Asher is a good boy.

Valentine's Day

Well, I received a Valentine's surprise from the babies...pretty flowers. Leila received flowers from Gigi and Pop. We had a great dinner prepared by Nanny and Papa. When we came home, Grandpa and Lala had left surprises on the door step. Asher was pretty excited to see the Elmo! Overall, cupid (mom, dad, and all the grandparents) scored pretty high with the babies! Of course, the cards were my favorite. Thanks everyone for all of your love and support. The best part of my night was putting Asher to sleep and singing "You Are My Sunshine" to him. He rolled over, looked at me with his big brown eyes and said, "I like that song, momma".

Little Tokens of Affection

Well, the little tokens of affection have begun. It started Tuesday, with Valentine's gifts from Nana and Papa. This morning, Nana brought Asher a Valentine's cupcake. He quickly made it a friend b/c it is a "good bug" and refused to eat it. Instead, he showed it all of his toys and played with it until it was mush. Then, Nanny arrived with a cookie cake and goodies from Nanny and Papa. Asher did indulge in the cookie cake and stomped hot pink icing into the carpet. So, it seems Valentine's Day will become a mini Christmas for our much loved babies. Here are a couple of pics of Asher and Leila giving their Daddy their affections. Well, I'm going to finish our gifts for Valentine's Day....banana bread!

Leila has her 1st taste of food

Leila ate cereal for the first time this morning. She wanted to help!

Pizza with Friends

We met a high school friend and his son at Pizza Parlour. When we ate there after junior high games, we didn't imagine we would be eating dinner with our kids there someday. Funny how fast time flies! Anyway, Asher saw 2 horses in a trailer when we left. He had a top notch day!

Flying a Kite

Being the beautiful day it was yesterday, we took the babies up to the lot to fly a kite. The kite was only $1 and you get what you pay for. It flew high enough for Asher and he had so much fun running around. Tyler and I had lots of fun too. It is great to be outside. It makes me excited for the spring. We even saw a tractor as we were leaving.

Saturday Morning

The first picture is Asher walking baby Elmo around looking for bugs. Asher told us that Elmo can't walk because he is a baby. So, he walked him around and found make believe ants, spiders, and hoppers. Asher even gave him praise when they were finished. It was so funny! Then, we went in the backyard and played in the tunnel and tent. Asher had so much fun. The last picture is for anyone that doubts that Leila favors her daddy!

My 1st Haircut

Tyler was off this morning, so we took the kids for their hair cuts. This was Leila's first trip to the beauty shop! She did great and loved the attention. Also, she enjoyed watching herself in the mirror. I love the expressions she makes! Asher had a rough first 5 minutes but Daddy kept him entertained with a balloon calendar. He was promised a coke if he was good and was excited to go bye-bye to receive his prize. First, he had to make a few friends at the shop with the Friday regulars that were getting their hair done. They loved his overalls like his great grandpa's (Main Man) and he showed them off! Ellen, thanks for doing a great job on a screaming boy! Whitney, Leila loves her snow boots!
