I went for a girls weekend with a couple of close friends from hygiene school. Court's grandparents kindly let us stay in their condo on Lake Hamilton for the weekend. Here is what we did:
1.Laughing...check
2.Talking until the wee hours of the night...check
3.Eating junk food and looking at gossip magazines...check
4.Eating a lot...check
5.Shopping....check
6.Pedicures...check
7.Missing our babies and hubbies...check
8.Enjoying the ease of jumping out of the car without unloading diaper bags, strollers, etc....check
9.Promising to do this yearly b/c it was so much fun...check
10.Leaving a little early to head home b/c we are all homebodies!....check
I had such a wonderful time with Courtney and Cassi and it makes me sad that we don't live closer. I love hanging out with the two of you b/c we share so much in common and I feel so relaxed and myself around you both. It doesn't seem like we should be turning 30 soon and it sure doesn't seem like 4 years ago that we were all together. Hey we have had 6 children since then! Let's hope that trend doesn't continue for our next meeting! Smile! Really, I had such a good time and I am sad it has come and gone. Courtney, Parr is a little doll and I'm glad that I got to see him. I drove Hwy 71 to Hot Springs and I enjoyed some thinking/day dreaming time and loved the beautiful country on the way. I put a pic of a pretty place for you all to see. God has blessed me richly with wonderful friends and a wonderful family to return home to. Thank you Lord!

Our little farmers!

Let me start by saying that my heart is so full as I type this post. Planting a garden has been a longtime dream for Tyler and me. Tonight, we broke the ground and pulled the grass from our first garden ever! We did get one row of peppers planted. I am so excited! We are joint gardening with some friends and their two (almost 3) little ones. Our kids had so much fun playing with their kids tonight and we had a good time too. My great grandpa and Tyler's granddaddy were farmers/gardeners for their entire lives. They loved planting gardens and sharing their harvests. Tonight, our two babies got a taste of what their grandpas loved to do. Let me tell you, I know they were smiling from Heaven as we all planted. It was a joy watching Asher and Leila tonight. Asher set to work and dug and raked. He kept saying he was a "good farmer"....he really was. Leila loved planting and when she gets the right idea, she will be tons of help. She loved the dirt and decided to pour it by the fistfulls over her head. I kind of loved it that much too. Tyler loved it too! We are excited to get it finished and more excited to see the fruits of our labor!

Happy Birthday Uncle Kyle!

Okay bub, I know you are asleep by now....sorry, better late than never. Your sister is a night owl not an early bird! Anyways, Happy Birthday! I hate to hear that your birthday was not very good....welcome to growing older! It's okay, we'll throw you an Elmo or Mickey Mouse party when you get home. Ha! Ha! We love you and think that we have the bestest brother and uncle in the world. I am so proud of the hard worker you are and I admire your ability to make people laugh and be at ease around you. You are so fun and kind...I'm so proud to be your big sis! So hugs and kisses from home. We love you. Happy Birthday!

A brave girl!

I love to watch pageants and I missed the end of the Miss USA pageant the other night. I am so proud of Miss California for standing firm in her beliefs when put in an awkward position. I think we need more role models like her for our children to look up to.

A great day

We have had a wonderful Saturday! The kids stayed the night with mom and nana last night and Tyler and I got lots of stuff done. The kids had a blast too! So, we have had the best day just hanging around. We all got an afternoon nap. Then, we planted flowers around the lamp post in the yard. The kids loved digging in the dirt. Tyler fixed our doorbell and Asher was excited to try it out. We ate pizza buffett and came home and made cupcakes with sprinkles. Now, we are coloring and playing and having the best time. What a great day! I love to get things accomplished and I love to be home!

Impatient

The kids couldn't wait to get their clothes off to get into the bath!

I know, I know, we're totally crazy! So, PLEASE pray for God to do a mighthy thing and sell our house soon! Please pass on the info of our house to anyone you think may be interested.

Easter Lunch

We had easter lunch at Tyler's parents today. Gina and Haley cooked a great meal and the kids had an easter egg hunt inside. They had stuffed the eggs with lots of goodies and money. Aunt Haley is quite creative! Asher's pockets jingled when he walked for the rest of the day. Leila fell asleep during the festivities again today! That girl just doesn't know what she's missing. Thank you so much for the wonderful time and dinner. Thanks for loving us so much...we are so grateful! Tonight, we went to Nanny and Papa's to see Papa since he is feeling better. The kids were so excited and had missed him so much.

Easter Sunday

The easter bunny made a stop at our house this morning and the kids got baskets of goodies. Then, we went out in the down pour to church. Asher insisted on using his own Spiderman umbrella which was a fiasco. We were all totally drenched by the time we entered the church building. But, it's not about us or changing our outfits b/c of the cold and rain. It's about Jesus and the sacrifice for our sins. Asher is learning the story of the crucifixion and the resurrection. He was telling me that Jesus loves little children and mean guys put nails in his hands and his toes and hung him on the cross. He asked what happened to Jesus and we told him that he died for our sins, but he rose from the dead and came back to life. Asher said, "Then did he cut those mean guys heads off?". He's a little vigilanty at heart! Anyways, we will have to get the details of the story worked out for him, but I am thankful that God has given him a heart eager to learn. I am thankful that Leila (who doesn't speak much) will say "Amen" at the end of every prayer. What a blessing God has given us with these children and what mercy and grace he shows us everyday. Happy Easter!

Dying eggs

Three words....1.Crazy 2.Chaotic 3.Wonderful

Easter Lunch....on Saturday

My mom cooked a great lunch for our family and brought it over to our house since Dad was sick. We pigged out on the yummy food and even had another easter egg hunt. Asher found the golden egg and $5. Leila could have cared less about the egg hunting b/c the swing set was so enticing. She was interested in the prizes from the eggs that Nanny had. Mom and Dad got the kids the cutest Spiderman and Dora easter sacks complete with beach towels, sunglasses, swimsuits, hats, and dive sticks. The rest of the night, Asher wanted more surprises every time he found a little piece of paper. I even got a beach bag present from Mom! We are so spoiled! Nana and Papa bought the kids the cutest cookie cake. Even spiderman showed up to enjoy it! Leila fell asleep during the festivities but Asher got to enjoy some great playtime with the hilarious Uncle Kyle! Thanks everyone for the food, FUN, presents, and overall thoughtfulness of the day! We are truly blessed. We love you.

Egg Hunt

Our church had a egg hunt on Saturday morning. It was a beautiful day and a perfect time to celebrate the easter season outdoors. Asher was itching to start the egg hunt....he was super excited. When the horn blew, Asher quickly gathered a full bucket of eggs. Leila caught on quickly too, but she only wanted yellow eggs. I'm guessing a favorite color may be developing. Anyways, Asher showed her how to collect all the colors and she gathered a bucket of eggs too. They both had gold coins in their eggs. Nana squealed with excitement for them...I think she was more excited than they were. We were happy to have the family out to watch them and missed my dad. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

How does your garden grow

Grandpa and Lala came over last night to celebrate Easter with us and the kids. They got the kids the cutest little gardening bags with accessories. Leila loved the gardening gloves and being tickled with them! Mom and Dad loved the new hummingbird feeder! Thanks Grandpa and Lala for the gifts and fellowship.
