Somedays, after chasing kids in circles all day or working when I have had 2-3 hours of sleep the night prior, I feel old! Sometimes, it is the gray hairs, the crow's feet next to my eyes that show up in pictures, or the way my love for sweets is showing up around my midsection (Seriously, I have some pudge going on!) that reminds me I am getting older. And sometimes, it's my sweet little son that reminds me. Last night, this was our conversation in the car:
Asher: Mommy, am I going to be 2 on my birthday?
Me: No, you will be 3.
Asher: I don't want to be 3, I want to be 2!
Me: Why?
Asher: B/c I don't want to get old...(Pause)...I don't want to be old like y'all.
Me: (Silence and Shock!)....Gee thanks!
Hey, kids are honest. Today, I touched Asher and he informed me that my hands were crusty. I guess I better get to using that Rx creme for dry hands that the doctor prescribed, b/c as a hygienist (and mother) you have to wash your hands a million times a day, resulting in dry skin! Today, we had pizza with Nanny and Nana. We bought Leila a super fun hat! Then, we went to dinner at Gigi and Pop's house. Leila ran into a door frame and has bruised her head (Again!), and she wanted to hold the ice pack by herself! It was a good Saturday.
