Leila, our little supermodel

I took Leila to the doctor yesterday for her 9-month well visit. She is gaining weight....yeah! However, she is still only in the 30th percentile for weight but the 90th percentile for height. The doctor says not to be concerned because she will just grow up to be a supermodel. I hope that doesn't happen, but I've learned (it took a while) that being tall isn't such a bad thing. It really seemed like it was when I was a foot taller than any boy in junior high! He gave her a thumbs up and commented on how happy the babies always are. It was our secret that 5 minutes before he came in the room, they were both screaming and crying and begging to leave!

Momma's don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys

Well, it was loud, fun, and entertaining but I hope that neither of my babies want to be cowboys! Leila clapped and clapped for the events. Asher was less entertained this year than last....he still had fun though. Let's just say that I would have to be out of my mind to climb on the back of one of those bulls!

Happy Birthday to Our Nana

Tomorrow is our Nana's birthday. We will be spending the day with her as it is her day to play with us. Nana is so much fun to play with and we love her so much! Nana made our mommy's childhood very happy too! Hugs and Kisses to our special Nana on her special day. Love, Asher and Leila (and Casey too!)

The Air Show

We went to the air show and watched from the nuclear lab. Asher enjoyed it more than I expected. He didn't like the loud noises though. He met a new little friend, Nick. They had a great time running and playing. It was a joy to see a 3 yr old and 2 yr old play and listen to their all boy conversations. It starts early! Anyways, when we left, I asked Asher what his new friends name was. He pointed to his throat and said "Neck". It was so funny and I am so glad that we didn't name Asher "Nick". Here is a pic of the new minivan for all of you who have been asking!

Day 3 without paci!!!!

Asher is doing such a great job giving up his paci! We are praising him constantly. We got him this shark puppet as a reward and he played baseball and helicopter outside at Tu-ta's house last night. He has been answering his own requests with "No paci...Asher is growing up". So, I think he understands the concept. I hope it continues to go well. I think we are over the hard part. It is kind of sad that our baby boy is no longer a baby. Also, Happy 1st Birthday Z! We hope you are having fun in Michigan.

Asher's accomplishment and Leila's new friend

What is strange about this pic of Asher sleeping? There is no paci in his mouth! He has gone without his paci for 1 1/2 days!!!! That is huge! We took him to Wal-Mart to get a surprise for being a big boy and Leila latched on to this doll. It is the first time that she has expressed interest in a doll. It is her new friend. As for Asher, he chose Spiderman walkie talkies as his surprise.

Elmo says Choo-Choo

Sam and Lily let Asher borrow their Elmo train and he is loving it! He played with it all night long last night. He wanted to play with it as soon as we came home tonight. Leila is pretty fascinated too. Thanks Sam and Lily! Leila was a little cuddle muffin last night....I loved it!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

It was much cooler than expected today! It was my third Mother's Day and my first with two babies. After church, we met my mom and Ty's mom at Rolando's for lunch. It was so nice to have both of them together and I so enjoyed the time with them. We are blessed with some amazing moms! It is a joy to see them be grandmothers to our children. Thanks moms...for everything! We love you!

Fun at G's Birthday Party

Asher had a wonderful time at G's birthday party yesterday. It was at Ben Geren park and he loved the playground equipment. He was so excited to see S & L there too. I can't believe these little ones are 2!

Family Updates

Asher and Leila's appetite are back. Asher had a corn on the cob, 1/2 salmon, 2 oz. of peas, fruit snacks, a handful of cashews, and about 19 bites of coconut cake for dinner 2 nights ago! Leila is as mischevious as ever and fears nothing. Yesterday, she babbled all the way to grandma's house!!!! I don't think I have ever heard a more beautiful noise! I was so excited! I am so thankful that God is answering our prayers. The kids have fun playing with their daddy and I think that Tyler and I are going to be quickly outnumbered!

Strawberry Pickin' Sunday

We took the kids to the Wild Things Farm to pick strawberries and see animals. I'm not sure if the kids had more fun or if the adults did! It was a beautiful day and Asher is quite the little strawberry picker.

A Family Filled Saturday

We took the kids to the Razorback baseball game to celebrate with Pop on his birthday. Mrs. Melinda Jorn was nice enough to share their box seats with us...it made diaper changes very easy! The kids had a wonderful time and it was a beautiful day. Leila wore her new Razorback tutu outfit. When she crawled, she looked like a turkey with it's feathers. It was hilarious! Then, we met Uncle Travis and Leila for dinner at Kobe japanese steak house. We thought that Asher would enjoy watching the man cook. We were wrong! He was terrified when the man lit the hibachi. He kept insisting that he burned his face off. He cried and shook all over....I know it was a frightening experience. Asher kept saying, "I don't want the fire man." Tuta made everything better by taking him to the PetSmart store. We made a peace effort with a milkshake. We had a wonderful Saturday!
