Turkey Time

There were so many people and things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day. We are blessed! Our dinner was wonderful! I had to tease my little brother about missing out on the yumminess since he was honeymooning. ;) Asher was a big boy this year and was totally into the football game with the men folk. ;) The girls were pretty cute dancing and running in front of the television. My poor dad will have to endure many more years of dancing girls….he just thought it was over when I left the house! HA! It was with a thankful heart that I shared this day with our families. However, I did truly miss the members of our families that weren't here for this thanksgiving day. I guess some years are harder than others. I was grateful for a loving husband that lifted my spirits this year! It didn't hurt being surrounded with overflowing cuteness from some sweet kiddos! We took our 4 to watch Frozen, the twin's first movie. They ate an entire bucket of popcorn and drank a large coke, but they made it through! Caroline was a loud mouth during parts of the movie and Cal had to bust a move during the songs. Caroline keeps saying that she loves the movies and that is her favorite movie! It was a fun new experience with our loves!
Happy turkey day!

Oh Christmas Tree

Due to the way that Thanksgiving fell later than normal this year and the frigid temps this weekend, we decided to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving. (Gasp!) We had to try a different tree farm because our usual isn't open for business until after Thanksgiving. We started the morning right….with a trip to Paul's Bakery for doughnuts. Even sweeter, Leila treated all of us! She made this momma proud with her giving heart! While at the tree farm, snuggling kept us warm! We ended up with a virginia pine for the kid's tree and a frasier fir for the family tree.
Asher was a big help to Tyler, getting the trees ready (and it was sooo cold!) and guiding them into the house. Have I mentioned that I have a really handsome husband?!
We had a new plan for decorating the kid's tree this year. Multicolored lights, candy accents, and a homemade paper chain.
We even had some fun new glasses to gaze at the lights on the tree. This pair turned every light into Santas.
I had a moment when we were decorating the kid's tree this year. A moment that I was absolutely positive that my heart was going to burst from my chest. The kids were busy decorating the tree and taking little breaks to dance with each other to the tunes of Michael Buble's Christmas album, Tyler was loving on Marley, Copper was lounging in the warmth of our home, and I was observing all of the love and happiness. It was a moment that I will remember (and yearn to repeat) all of my years. This moment of complete and utter happiness and gratitude for the life I live. I know I have stated this before but Tyler, Asher, Leila, Cal, and Caroline, I love you more than my words could ever express!
We finished decorating the rest of the house and the family tree today. The picture above is what it was doing outside. Crazy weather!
