Happy Halloween 2010!

Poor little Asher was sick with a cold and a terrible cough. I felt bad too, but we still went out for a little bit of trick or treating. Sickness can't keep us down! Thanks Nanny for your help and for the ribbons for best costumes for the kids. They thought that was awesome! I think they thought they really won a contest! :) Gigi and Pop, thanks for the great movie buckets of coke, candy, and popcorn. They have already taken out the cokes and candy! A few things that I want to remember about Halloween night 2010:
-Asher yelling "Thank you and Happy Halloween" to each person that gave him a treat. So sweet!
-Me telling Leila that she looked so much like a kitty cat, people may give her cat food instead of candy. Her response, "I'm a kid, Mom! I want candy!" Ha!
-Leila's sweet meow and her fear of scary decorated houses. She told Nanny that "she was allergic to witches"!
-The amazing weather for trick or treating!

Apples and Hogs

The Hogs won but what a boring game! Well, with the exception of the cute, Halloween band performance at half time and the scolding that I gave an intoxicated, college boy, who thought his seat was in my lap! It was great to go with our babies though, and we had some fun with hog noses before the game. We left early this afternoon to take a scenic, fall foliage drive but were disappointed that the trees were not brilliant. We did stop in Lincoln at Appletown. The kids had a great time playing in the old carriage. It was a truly beautiful day! Can't wait to crack open the cider tommorrow.

Pumpkin Carving

We slept in this morning. It was great! Then, a little pumpkin carving. Leila carved a cat in a boot and Asher carved a wolf.

Trick or Treating on the Square

What a fun time we had! These are not the costumes the kids will be wearing on Halloween. They had these in their closets and we wanted to get some good use out of them. Oh, and yes, I did drive all the way to Fayetteville and realize that my daughter's shoes were still at home! Thankfully, my head is attached to my body!

It's getting a little spooky around here!

We started getting ready for Halloween today. We made spider cookies for preschool and Tiny Tim snack. We made a haunted castle cookie house. Leila decided to eat the icing and candy off of the house, about as fast as we could put it on. In fact, I just noticed that there is no longer a ghost on the front of our castle. :) Asher just ate the pieces laying around. Thanks to Kyle and Lamanda for your help with our castle! Mom invited us over to eat steaks tonight.....thank you! It was fun to visit with y'all and the food was yummy! Now, the kids are getting ready for bed and are wearing their spooky, Halloween pyjamas.

October Field Trip Time

This beautiful morning, we went to Asher's preschool field trip to Wild Things Farm. The kids had a fun time. I thought they looked so cute running toward the pumpkin patch and helping their teacher push the wagon. It made me smile to hear Asher's classmates say they wanted to sit by him at snack time. I am soooo thankful that he has made some great friends! Also, Leila was being entertained by Gigi and Pop. We appreciate you keeping her.

Our Weekend

We had a GREAT weekend. Tyler and I headed up the hill to meet some high school friends for dinner Friday night. Asher and Leila stayed with Nanny. We gave our Razorback tickets to a friend that Tyler works with because we were worried about the rain. We enjoyed a lazy Saturday with our babies while the rain poured down. Our friend did text to say thank you and reported that he had a great time. He took 500 pictures! I'm so glad that he got to enjoy the seats....we wouldn't have been so grateful to be delayed by rain and rained on. Back here at home, we watched the game (in the comfort of our dry home), had our garage door fixed, ate two homecooked meals (the kids had homemade sloppy joes for the first time!), figured out our garbage disposal was broken, bathed the animals, popped popcorn, made pumpkin spice cookies, and watched How to Train a Dragon. What a fun day! I even caught up on ALL of my laundry! Sunday, we went to church to hear Rick Bonfim preach. It was amazing! God had a word for me and I needed to hear it more than I realized. God is soooo good! Between services, Tyler, Pop, and the kids (wink) fixed our disposal! It was a weekend of rest, home repairs, and heart repairs!
